The Abate Pears.

The Pear Abbot Fetel (often simply called "Abbot") is considered the "queen of pears" for her merit and unique characteristics. Selected in France in 1866 by the botanical monk Abate Fetel (from whom it takes its name), today it finds its maximum expression in Italy, especially in the fertile lands of Emilia-Romagna, where a large part of the national harvest is produced. 
The pulp is white, firm but melting on the palate, very juicy, sugary and with an intense aroma.
The skin is thin, yellowish-green in colour, often with "rusty" areas (small brown spots) typical of the tastiest varieties.
